FREE Social Media Training

Historical organisations, libraries, archives, galleries and museums that were interested in social media training for their members were encouraged to attend these workshops offered from the State Library of Queensland and Museums & Galleries Qld.

Workshops were held at:

Tablelands Region - Mt Quincan Crater Retreat Conference Centre, Yungaburra on 3-4 September 2013

Rockhampton - Rockhampton Regional Library on 2-3 October 2013

Charters Towers - Excelsior Library, Charters Towers on 18-19 February 2014

Cairns - SLQ Training Room, Cairns on 5-6 March 2014

Mackay - Gordon White Library, Mackay on 13-15 May 2014

Dalby - Gallery 107 @ Dalby on 24-25 June 2014

 

SCHEDULE

Day 1 - Introduction to Social Media
General introduction to using and understanding platforms, and how to use social media in your community.

Day 2 - Hands-on Social Media
Create a free WordPress blog or webpage for your organisation and explore Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Historypin.

 

After the workshop all participants:

– Received a manual including tips, useful websites and how-to information
– Established accounts in their preferred social media tools.
