A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries, May 2015 edition

M&G QLD is pleased to release the second edition of A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries.

A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries aims to assist the sector to make informed decisions around viable, economically and environmentally sustainable methods of exhibition practice and collections care by identifying appropriate technologies, products and systems.

Prepared by leading consultancy firms Steensen Varming and International Conservation Services, A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries is informed by national and international theory and practice.

 

This interview with Julian Bickersteth, International Conservation Services, provides an introductory overview of A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries.  M&G QLD acknowledges the work of our project partner M&G NSW and Andrew Brettell in the production of this film. 

 

A Case Study on Lighting for Museums and Galleries

To complement A Practical Guide for Sustainable Climate Control and Lighting in Museums and Galleries, M&G QLD is pleased to release A Case Study on Lighting for Museums and Galleries. This new resource provides museums and galleries with five real-life examples to assist when upgrading or replacing their institution’s lighting systems. A Case Study on Lighting for Museums and Galleries is prepared by Steensen Varming.

Clever Custodians

Clever Custodians provides quick tips and other initiatives for improving the energy efficiency of small-to-medium museums and galleries. Prepared by respected industry consultants, Timeline Heritage, this online resource combines factsheets, short films and links to other online resources that aim to assist the sector to reduce its operating expenses and carbon footprint, and to improve its long-term sustainability.
