2016 GAMAA FINALISTS

MUSEUMS & GALLERIES QUEENSLAND CELEBRATES THE WINNERS IN THE 2016 GAMAA.

Winners and Finalists for the 2016 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) were announced at a gala event on 22 November 2016.

The 2016 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards were proudly hosted by Creative Arts Redlands – Redland Performing Arts Centre and Redland Art Gallery. 

Museums & Galleries Queensland congratulates the Winners and Finalists in the following categories. 


ORGANISATIONS WITH PAID STAFF

PROJECTS:

  • JOINT WINNER: Museum of Brisbane for 100% Brisbane
  • JOINT WINNER: Logan Art Gallery, Logan City Council for Animating Spaces Logan: Arts in the Park
  • FINALIST: Bundaberg Regional Galleries for Wide Bay – High Desert II
  • FINALIST: Newstead House, Brisbane for Connecting Threads: Tracing fashion, fabric and everyday life at Newstead House

ENGAGEMENT:

  • WINNER: State Library of Queensland for Peace and Quiet
  • FINALIST: R.D. Milns Antiquities Museum, The University of Queensland for 'Cyprus: An Island and A People' Exhibition and Public Programs
  • FINALIST: Redland Art Gallery for Gathering Strands
  • FINALIST: Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns Regional Council for Freedom of Expression: Indigenous Art from Queensland Correctional Centres.
