Traction Studio is an Australian experiential fabrication and custom build studio delivering exhibition, display and installation projects for museums, galleries, cultural institutions, brands and agencies.
We specialise in turning creative concepts and designs into well-crafted physical builds, including exhibition structures, custom displays, interpretive installations, retail displays and other bespoke environments. Our team manages the process from fabrication and finishing through to delivery and installation.
With a 15-year history as MNR Constructions, we have delivered multiple exhibition and display builds for cultural institutions including the Australian Museum and State Library of NSW. In 2026, MNR Constructions and Peacock Retail came together under the Traction Studio name.
Based in NSW, we work with clients across Australia and can service projects throughout Queensland, including Brisbane, regional areas and other locations requiring delivery and installation.

2024
Shot Exhibition, State Library of NSW – Designed, built and installed five bespoke glass showcases for Shot, the State Library of NSW’s inaugural photographic exhibition featuring more than 400 historic images.
2023
1001 Remarkable Objects, Powerhouse Museum – Fabricated bespoke exhibition structures for 1001 Remarkable Objects, creating spaces to display and interpret objects from the Powerhouse collection.

Wansolmoana Pasifika Gallery, Australian Museum – Fabricated bespoke museum display cabinetry for the Wansolmoana Pasifika Gallery, showcasing Pacific cultural objects from the Australian Museum’s collection.
2022
BURRA Interactive Learning Space, Australian Museum – Fabricated custom play tables and more than 40 bespoke pieces for BURRA, an interactive learning and play space for children at the Australian Museum.
2020
Prehistoric Playground, Australian Museum – Built custom joinery for Prehistoric Playground, an interactive learning space where children could explore the world of dinosaurs through play.
