Futuring Your Volunteer Program in Museums and Galleries, with Mark Creyton

This program will focus on  succession and forward planning with regards to volunteers in the light of current and future trends.  

Topics will include :

  • Understand the new landscape of volunteering.
  • Some tips on planning for succession.
  • Reviewing  the fundamentals
  • Design volunteers roles and experiences for the future 
  • Develop stories that attract and sustain volunteers  
  • Consider fresh approaches to recruiting .
  • Enhance the experience of volunteering with your organisation.

About Mark Creyton

Mark Creyton has extensive experience in developing and enhancing volunteer programs in a variety of sectors and has taken an active role in national research programs for Volunteering Australia and the new National Standards for Volunteer Involvement. He was Education and Research director for Volunteering Qld for many years and has worked with over 15,000 community groups and initiatives.   He provides a range of Masterclass programs in Leading Volunteer Programs and consulting in this field as well as having a strong passion for grassroots leadership and works with communities to build capacity for local programs and initiatives.

He has a passion and commitment to creating and sustaining volunteer programs which genuinely engage people in projects of impact, working in collaborative and team based settings. 


This workshop was supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a partnership between the Queensland Government and Rockhampton Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
