2017 Securing Funding Workshop, Chinchilla

Thursday 23 & Friday 24 March 2017
Chinchilla Cultural Centre, Chinchilla, QLD

This workshop aimed to increase capacity to secure funding by providing opportunities to:
- Speak face-to-face with funding bodies
- Learn about alternative sources of funding
- Hear local case studies of successful grant applications and sponsorship
- Find the right source of funds projects
- Improve application writing skills

Funding body representatives included:
- Catherine Turner, Cultural Development Coordinator, Western Downs Regional Council on Regional Arts Development Fund
- Lavinia Tyrrell, Community Development Coordinator, Western Downs Regional Council on Local Events and Minor Grant Programs
- Janice Irvine, Development Manager, Arts Queensland (via Skype)
- Siobhan Ketter, Senior Grants Officer, Community Benefit Funds Unit, Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, Department of Justice & Attorney-General (via Skype)
- Fran D’Castro, Coordinator, Community Heritage Grants, National Library of Australia
- Annie Wright, Ambassador, Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (via Skype)

- Simona Sharry, Creative Partnerships Australia on philanthropy and fundraising
- Debra Beattie, M&G QLD on preparing grant budgets
- Deannah Vieth, M&G QLD on designing your project; finding the right grant for your project and preparing a grant application
