Nick Stokes

Museum Volunteer, Queensland Transport Museum, Gatton

Nick Stokes is a passionate and dedicated volunteer at the Queensland Transport Museum (QTM), having contributed 16 years of outstanding service since its opening in 2009. As the sole facilitator of hundreds of guided tours, Nick has become the face of the Queensland Transport Museum for countless visitors, delivering engaging and educational experiences tailored to diverse audiences—from school groups and scouts to international exchange students and seasoned transport enthusiasts.

Nick consistently goes above and beyond—whether through his guided tours, changeover and maintenance of exhibitions, or supporting behind-the-scenes operations. Nick is highly regarded by his colleagues at the Queensland Transport Museum, who recognise that his contributions are a key factor in the Museum’s success, and came through strongly in the thoughtful and effusive words in his nomination.

Nigel Cox

President & Curator, Gaythorne RSL Sub Branch

Nigel Cox is a passionate historian and dedicated leader whose tireless work at the Gaythorne RSL Sub-Branch has made a profound impact on the organisation. As President and Curator, Nigel brings strategic insight and professionalism to the documentation, care, and interpretation of the collection, while mentoring peers across the RSL Sub-Branch community.

His recent initiatives, including retrofitting display cases with vermin exclusion and dimmable lighting, and donating cabinets to the Ipswich Sub-Branch, reflect his inclusive approach and commitment to best practices. His military career, including roles in Squadron and Regimental Headquarters and as Registrar for the Army Museum South Queensland, further informs his curatorial role.
