The gallery primarily exhibits student artworks and the work of ACU-affiliated entities such as Prison Fellowship QLD, the Cathedral of St. Stephen Art Group, and the Visionaries Christian art group, on an annual basis. The gallery also stages historical, artifacts and solo exhibitions for current and former students and has a rotating collection of alumni artworks.

The Australian Catholic University Gallery is located in the Sheehan building (225.G) of the Australian Catholic University campus.
