More information about Lit Sung Goong Collection

The collection includes the intricately carved temple altar, temple bell, temple fittings and decor, deity statues, incense burners, printing blocks, drums, cymbals and processional items.

Most of the artefacts were commissioned or purchased in China and brought to Cairns at the end of the 19th century. The collection which is being cared for by CADCAI Heritage group volunteers is currently stored in a Cairns warehouse until a permanent exhibition space can be developed.
