Securing Funding Workshop

M&G QLD is running a 2-day Securing Funding Workshop on 4 and 5 March 2025, at The Vice Regal Room, Eagle Farm Racecourse, Ascot

About the event

This 2-day workshop aims to enhance the capacity of museum and gallery staff and volunteers in securing funding. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Speak face-to-face with funding bodies
  • Enhance their funding application skills
  • Identify the right source of funds for their projects
  • Learn about alternative sources of funding
  • Hear case studies of successful grant applications and fundraising

Funding Body Representatives include:

  • Fiona Clarke – Assistant Director, Community Heritage Grants | National Library of Australia
  • Toma Dim – Director, Grants Assurance Team, Arts Queensland 
  • Matthew Higgins – State Manager Development and Partnerships (QLD), Creative Australia

Other speakers will present topics including:

  • Designing a project, finding the right grant for your project and preparing a grant application – Janelle Byrne (Training & Professional Development Co-ordinator, M&G QLD)
  • Preparing a budget – Stephen Coppard (Business Manager, M&G QLD) 
  • Crowdfunding for Museums and Galleries – Madeleine Green (Training & Professional Development Officer, M&G QLD)
  • Case Study – Crowdfunding by the Abbey Museum of Art & Archaeology and Abbey Medieval Festival – Edith Cuffe OAM (Director, Abbey Museum of Art & Archaeology)
  • Diversifying Income – Paul Garcia (Fundraising Manager/Business Development Manager, Abbey Museum of Art & Archaeology)
