The Winners, Highly Commended and Finalists of the 2024 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) were proudly announced by Museums & Galleries Queensland (M&G QLD) on Tuesday 8 October, at a special awards presentation held at the Queensland Museum Cobb+Co, Toowoomba.

M&G QLD is running a free Collection Management 101 Workshop in November 2024 in the Sunshine Coast local government area. The workshop will provide museums, galleries and other relevant community groups with an overview of collection management principles, including cataloguing, storage and collection handling.

The National Standards aim to support Australian museums, galleries and collecting organisations achieve their objectives, from high-level policy, planning and stakeholder liaison, to practical everyday activities.

M&G QLD and Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts were delighted to receive a Highly Commended at the 2024 Queensland Reconciliation Awards in the Partnership Category, for our travelling exhibition ‘Legacy: Reflections on Mabo’. The Awards were held in Gimuy (Cairns) on Monday 27 May during Reconciliation week.
