The workshop provided participants with a general overview and hands-on experience of preventive conservation principles that underpin the use and preservation of cultural collections. The workshop will covered:

  • Key elements and terminology of Preventive Conservation
  • Factors contributing to deterioration of collections and objects in collections
  • Controlling and preventing damage and deterioration factors
  • Condition reporting

About Christine Ianna

Christine has worked in the Museum and Materials Conservation profession in Queensland for more than thirty years. She has held Conservation positions at the Queensland Museum, Queensland State Archives and State Library of Queensland. Christine is a Professional Member of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM), the peak body for Conservators in Australia.
